Last updated: 14 August 2026
Wythenshawe Dental Clinic (“we”, “us”, “the Practice”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or contact us, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights.

- Data Protection Officer: Contact us using the details above.
What information we collect
When you submit an enquiry or booking request through this website, we collect:
- Your name
- Email address and/or phone number
- The treatment you're enquiring about
- Any message or additional information you provide
- Whether you've opted in to receive marketing communications
We may also automatically collect technical information such as which page or advert brought you to this site, so we can understand how our website is used. This does not identify you personally unless you go on to submit an enquiry.
Why we collect it, and our legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry or booking request | Necessary to take steps at your request, prior to entering into a contract for treatment |
| Sending you marketing communications (offers, updates) | Your explicit consent, given via the opt-in checkbox on our form |
| Understanding which adverts or pages lead to enquiries | Legitimate interests, in improving our services — this does not involve identifying you personally unless you submit an enquiry |
Where your enquiry indicates a specific treatment interest, this may be considered health-related information under data protection law. We only collect this with your knowledge, when you choose to tell us, and we treat it with the same care as any other patient information.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your information. We share it only with:
- Our website and CRM developer/support provider (Alif Designs), who builds and maintains the systems that store this information, under a written data processing agreement that requires them to protect it and only use it as we instruct.
- Our hosting and database provider, who stores the information securely on our behalf.
- Any other party where we are required to by law, or with your explicit consent.
We do not use your enquiry information for any purpose beyond responding to you and, if you've opted in, sending you relevant marketing — we do not pass it to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
How long we keep your information
- If you become a patient, your information forms part of your dental record and is retained in line with our record-keeping obligations (typically a minimum of 10 years from your last treatment, or longer for children, in line with NHS and GDC guidance).
- If you enquire but do not go on to book treatment, we retain your enquiry details for 12 months to allow us to follow up, after which it is securely deleted — unless you've asked us to keep following up.
- You can ask us to delete your information at any time — see “Your rights” below.
Cookies and tracking
This website may use cookies and similar technologies to understand how it's used and, where you've given consent, to measure the effectiveness of our advertising. You'll be asked to accept or decline non-essential cookies when you first visit. Declining these does not affect your ability to submit an enquiry.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Ask us to delete your information (subject to our legal obligations, e.g. retaining clinical records)
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time — every marketing message we send will include an easy way to unsubscribe, or you can contact us directly
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe we have not handled your information properly — ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the top of this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If we make significant changes, we will make this clear on our website.
